The man who slayed off engineers and doctors

Surfing internet makes almost 99% of my life. As I was surfing through, I noticed it was 'National Superhero day', so yeah... thought of writing about a superhero on the blog.

While deciding on the person to focus on, a dilemma set in - one being my mother who I consider to be the best cook or some random cook from whom I never had the privilege of their cuisine. Through all this, one chef stood out, it was Sanjeev Kapoor.

Being an amateur commerce student, the only thing I know is to do the pros and cons table to finalize the winner between my mom an Sanjeev Kapoor... and as the title suggests, you know the rest.

Now, why my mom lost ?
She passed 12th grade with minimum support and was forced to household chores along with cooking. Cooking became her passion only after some time. To add to the cons, she did not really make a difference, she accepted the expectations of the society and took the kitchen with no other options left, but Sanjeev Kapoor stands out, in a society where male members are expected to be engineers and doctors, this man did something out of the normal and proved all those "intellectual" grey haired loons wrong.

Sanjeev Kapoor started in hospitality industry in 1984 with a diploma in Hotel management form the Institute of Hotel management, New Delhi. He then worked in many hotels and made his name. He also won several awards and owns the food food channel along with successful running of Khana Khazana which is the longest running show of its kind in Asia.

What makes him so special ?
Sanjeev Kapoor was a well off student during his time in high school. He always stole the spot somewhere in the top 5 of his school. He was interested in biology and way too good at maths with 99% in math. What makes him special is that he did not write any of those IIT tests or any such stuff and applied for architecture. That is when his friend told him about Hotel management. He filled the form despite being uncertain of his choice. To his dilemma, he got seats for both courses, but he chose Hotel management over architecture. Today, his decision made him not only rich but also famous. He is the man behind the idea of cooking on TV.

His story is an inspiration to those who feel bad that they did not get science stream as well as for those who lost interest in science stream. His story teaches us that every decision made precise can make you successful while teaching our parents that engineers and doctors are not the only career choices.

Make wise choices !
Until next time
